Barry Harris is the Senior Partner of Harris &Harris. He has been engaged in private practice for over 40 years. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1962 with a bachelor of Laws (Honours, Class 1) and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1963.

Barry’s practice involves a range of commercial advisory work, including all company affairs and transactions. He has considerable experience in acting for a variety of financiers in the preparation and enforcement of security documentation and in a general advisory role.
 
Barry also has considerable experience in property-related transactions. He has effected more than 4,000 conveyances of real property in the last 40 years of private practice. In addition to acting on the acquisition and disposal of residential, retail, commercial and industrial property, Barry has considerable experience in complex property financing and development transactions. He has been retained by building societies, credit unions, banks, mortgage originators and finance brokers in relation to the financing of various property-related transactions, as well as performing a general advisory role in relation to property and securities law.

Barry’s practice also involves a broad range of commercial litigation, particularly corporate insolvency and reconstruction, equity and property matters, and building and construction disputes.
